Using RiffRoff

You must have authority to install apps and operate promotions for the Shopify store connected to RiffRoff. You agree to provide accurate settings, use the app lawfully, and follow Shopify’s terms and policies. You are responsible for the referral terms shown to your customers and for reviewing rewards the app flags for review.

App permissions and Shopify services

RiffRoff relies on the permissions approved during Shopify installation to read relevant customer and order information, manage referral discounts and storefront redirects, and issue store-credit transactions. Removing permissions, disabling required Shopify features, or uninstalling the app can stop some or all functionality.

Pricing

RiffRoff offers two plans with the same referral-program features. Simple costs $0 per month plus a 12% success fee. Plus costs $14 per month with no success fee. There is no free-trial period.

The success fee applies to each referred customer’s first verified paid order only. It is calculated from the merchandise subtotal after discounts, excluding taxes and shipping. Orders after the first are not metered. An order is also not metered when the buyer spends an advocate store-credit reward previously issued by RiffRoff.

A referred customer becomes billable only after the original referral clears review and RiffRoff successfully issues the advocate’s store-credit reward. Fees use the US dollar value of each eligible subtotal, converted from the order’s currency at a daily published exchange rate. Blocked, rejected, canceled, and refunded orders are excluded or corrected with a negative usage event. Shopify calculates and collects the charge through Shopify App Pricing.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available and the referral ledger accurate, but third-party services, network failures, and Shopify API changes may interrupt it. We may update the app or these terms to improve security, comply with law or Shopify requirements, or change functionality. Material changes will be communicated where required.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using RiffRoff by uninstalling it. We may suspend access to protect merchants or customers, respond to abuse, meet a legal or Shopify requirement, or address a security risk. Privacy-related deletion continues through Shopify’s mandatory redaction process.
